5 DJs that changed my life!

What ever it is that you call your craft, you were inspired from some where or someone. Usually teachers were inspired by their own teachers through the years. Military men and women have a loved one who served. My mother and father had vinyl records growing up I’m sure, but never thought of rubbing them like I do now days. So what inspired me to become a DJ?

The five videos and audio of these DJ’s are why I made a career out of what I love today.

DJ BABU – Dilated PeoplesThis is DJ Babu’s winning routine from the 1995 West Coast DMC DJ Finals. My first DMC battle video I ever owned.

DJ JAZZY JEFFI remember being in Junior High listening to this DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince live showcase on the “He’s The DJ I’m The Rapper” cassette!

DJ RECTANGLEThis battle routine made DJ’s jump out their seats! Not only did DJ Rectangle capture the 1993 US DMC title, he also became the official tour DJ for Warren G! MUST SEE VIDEO!

DJ MIX MASTER ICE – U.T.F.O.Official DJ for the group U.T.F.O. (Untouchable Force Organization) from the 80’s. His “stab” scratches were some of the best ever! He was notorious for wearing Martial Arts gear when he performed! As a child, I wanted to make those sounds I heard him doing on cassette so much!

DJ QBERT & MIX MASTER MIKE I know I said 5 DJs, but these 2 made me practice hard everyday! These two DJ’s won the 1992 and 1993 DMC World DJ Championships back to back! Witness this flawless routine from the bay area’s best! SUPER AHEAD OF THEIR TIME!
