According to Genius, J.I.D is a rapper from Atlanta who is signed to J. Cole’s Dreamville label along with frequent collaborators EarthGang. J.I.D released his debut album The Never Story in 2017 to a very positive reception from both fans and critics alike and earned him a spot in the XXL 2018 Freshmen Class.
J.I.D’s stage name originates from an adapted version of his grandmother’s nickname for his jittery behavior as a child.
