80’s Babies & Millennial Rap Fans Rejoice…
Artist Kenny Keil has remixed your favorite, current rap stars as gross, nasty Garbage Pail Kids from the eighties.
Not sure what Garbage Pail Kids are? Here’s a quick summary.
Garbage Pail Kids were a series of trading cards originally released in 1985 and specifically designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls which were popular at the time. Each cards character had some sort of comical abnormality, deformity, and/or suffering with a humorous, word play.
Of course the artist had to hit us with his mixed signals disclaimer,
[Disclaimer: I don’t think all the following rappers are garbage, nor do I subscribe to a classic-or-trash paradigm of music criticism. A lot of my favorite art is both, and that’s the main idea behind this series. Then again I could just be a hater. Enjoy.]
