As you know Friday The 13th is coming up so all superstitions are high. That basically means that you should stay locked inside your house so you stay safe… Just kidding!
In case you didn’t know Friday The 13th has no real meaning, just a few beliefs.
One of many superstitions is from one that started back in the Middle Ages. Originating from the story of Jesus’ last supper which included 13 individuals leading up to his crucifixion on Good Friday.
Another belief is that it’s originated from Henry Sutherland Edward’s 1869 biography of Gioachino Rossini. Gioachino was a World famous composer who wrote 39 operas. He died on a Friday the 13th. Rossini was Italian, and therefore they regarded that Fridays are an unlucky day & 13 as an unlucky number. So it was definitely unlucky that Gioachino Rossini passed away on a Friday the 13th in November of 1868.
It is also very possible that the work of Thomas W. Lawson’s novel “Friday, the Thirteenth” in 1907 contributed to the superstition. In the novel, a crooked broker takes advantage of the superstition to create a Wall Street panic on a Friday the 13th.
