Kamala Harris Introduces $5 Billion Voter Safety Bill

Sen. Kamala Harris has introduced a sweeping bill aimed at improving voter safety across the U.S.
The VoteSafe Act of 2020 would require every state to offer 20 days of early in-person voting and allow any voter to opt for a mail-in ballot.
Harris says the current pandemic, which has wreaked havoc on state primaries, “highlighted the obstacles many already face when voting”. She says minorities in particular often face “long lines, inaccessible voting locations, and outright hostility”.
