I can’t believe that Jenna and I were blessed with a beautiful girl nine months ago! Nine months of snuggles, smiles, and doctor visits. Jasmine was born at just 25 weeks on May 14th last year. Her lungs have went through so much since birth, due to her different size oxygen machines. Chronic lung disease has been one of the many struggles with my miracle baby. I lost count with how many trips we have made to the ER. Just recently, 3 times over the last 3 months.
One of the scariest moments we’ve experienced with Jaz was her fight with Kawasaki disease. This illness involves the skin, mouth, lymph nodes and most often affects kids under age 5. The only way to diagnose it was a continuous fever that last 5 days straight. Talk about wanting to trade places with your own child!
After a week at Primary Children’s Hospital (The same week as my birthday), she was able to kick the illness and bring the world her wonderful smile again!
But it wasn’t even a month since she was once again dealing with sickness and being transported from Intermountain Medical Center to Primarys by ambulance.
Being tested as parents has been no more real than what Jenna and I have been experiencing. We are grateful that our jobs have been understanding. Jasmine is currently getting over a virus and has been discharged. This winter has been something I tell you. But we will get through this because we are there for each other more than ever!
Family togetherness and support is what it takes to whither the storm. Thank you for all the support and prayers that have been given to Jasmine Mae. Her smile lights up the room and our hearts!
