Kev’s Utah Teacher of The Week: Roy High School

We all know that teachers work hard and get paid very little, so my goal is to visit a high school each week, interact with students and let them nominate a teacher from their school to be recognized as U92’s Teacher of The Week.

This week I kicked things off in Weber County at Roy High school. I hung outside during the lunch break and talked to many students who passed by and they submitted their nominations.

U92’s Teacher of The Week (Week of March 4th) is… Mrs. Herrick and Mr. Maag. Congratulations to both teachers as they received an overwhelming amount of votes from students.

Mrs. Herrick was LIA (Latinos In Action) teacher of the year and best of state, so it’s no wonder why many students mentioned her as their favorite. According to several students, Mrs. Herrick is,

“Inspiring, supportive, helpful, nice, and chill. She’s always there for her students and teaches them to do what’s right.”

Mr. Maag teaches Government and History at Roy High School and was a favorite among many students as well because he’s,

“Super funny, cool, awesome, nice and chill. He will make your day if you’re having a bad one.”

Here’s what just a few students had to say about some of their favorite teachers.

Honorable mentions go out to Tammy Moon, Jeffrey Felix, Nina Doxey, Cody Caputo, Moon, Kanudson, Elsworth, and Nelson.

TUNE INTO THE NIGHT SHOW WITH KEV WEEKDAYS FROM 7 PM–MIDNIGHT.
