The NBA season is suspended indefinitely and many players are stepping up to help those who work at their home arenas. The latest one to step up is rookie for the Pelicans-Zion Williamson. He is paying salaries of the Smoothie King Arena employees for 30 days. In an Instagram post he notes how the city and the workers have welcomed and embraced him. How many are still dealing with the lasting effects of Hurricane Katrina. He said this is his way of expressing his support and appreciation. He makes under $10 million dollars.
A shout out to Kevin, Giannis, Zion, Blake, Steph and all the players, owners and organizations who are setting a good example during a challenging time. A reminder that we’re a community, and that each of us has an obligation to look out for each other. https://t.co/cv1RZi9GGL
