The three Minneapolis cops charged as accomplices in last week’s death of George Floyd have traded in their police uniforms for decidedly less glamorous ensembles.
Mugshots of Tou Thao, Thomas Lane and J. Alexander Kueng — released Wednesday evening by the police department — show the now-terminated officers wearing orange jumpsuits, just like the criminals they helped put away.
The photos were released hours after all three were charged as accomplices for standing by while another officer, Derek Chauvin, kneeled on the handcuffed victim’s neck, killing him. Also on Wednesday, prosecutors upgraded Chauvin’s charges of third-degree murder and manslaughter to second-degree murder.
