What happens when you listen to your critics and want to continue to be a leader and an example? You excite your employees. Amazon had received complaints of how it treated its employees, but they have little to complain about now. The $15 minimum wage takes effect November 1 and will benefit more than 250,000 Amazon employees, plus 100,000 seasonal workers.
Amazon’s founder and CEO Jeff Bezos had this to say according to CNN,
“We listened to our critics, thought hard about what we wanted to do, and decided we want to lead. We’re excited about this change and encourage our competitors and other large employers to join us.”
Amazon has added more American jobs in the past decade than any other company and is among the largest employers in the United States.
