FX renewed the hit series Atlanta for a third season on Thursday (June 7), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Created by Donald Glover, (Childish Gambino) the dramedy revolves around rapper Paper Boi and his manager cousin Earnest “Earn” Marks, and has already earned the network two Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, and a Peabody Award.
“Atlanta is phenomenal, achieving and exceeding what few television series have done,” FX Networks and FX Productions programming president Nick Grad said while making the announcement. “With Atlanta Robbin’ Season, Donald and his collaborators elevated the series to even greater heights, building on the enormous success of their award-winning first season.
The inaugural season premiered in September 2016 and its follow-up, Atlanta: Robbin’ Season, debuted earlier this year and wrapped up last month.
Season 3 is expected to arrive in 2019.
