Check Out The U of U’s “Cry Closet” For Stressed Students

With finals week underway, University of Utah senior, Nemo Miller, wanted to create a safe space for stressed-out students to decompress in. His creation, the “Cry Closet”, is a 400-pound, stand-alone space which is situated in the middle of the J. Willard Marriott library.

“I think everyone just needs a safe space sometimes, even if it’s in a very public place,” Millard said of his masterpiece.

The inside of the “Cry Closet” is filled with soft materials and stuffed animals, and instructions for use guide students to knock before entering, go in alone, and limit their time inside to 10 minutes.

The “Cry Closet” has quickly gone viral on social media, receiving mixed reviews. Here’s what Twitter’s saying:
