Say it ain’t soooo!
Cheap liquor is just a few miles away! Wendover just opened a brand new discount liquor store, and now we have an even better reason to take the short drive.
The punishment is up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines.
The store opened up October 25th and has since seen a huge increase of Utahns visiting to spend their life savings on liquor. Not really, lol but close enough! Store clerks say they’ve had people spend over $500 in one trip to save on all the cheap booze.

Lee’s Discount Liquor is Nevada’s largest liquor retailer, and for good reason. The new store is over 30,000 sq ft and has more than 6,000 products for sale. That’s more than double Utah’s newest state-owned liquor store in West Valley City, which is just 13,500 sq ft.

Locals have no problem driving 123 miles from Salt Lake City, to avoid Utah’s high state markup — 88 percent on wine and spirits, 66.5 percent on heavy beer. But, be careful. Under Utah state law, it is a class B misdemeanor for individuals to bring in beer, wine or spirits from another state. The punishment is up to six months in jail and up to $1,000 in fines.
Who’s down for a lil road trip?
