Childish Gambino AKA Donald Glover made history with his TV series Atlanta at the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday night. He won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and the award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series. The latter made him the first black person to win the award in the Emmy’s history.
One of the most noteworthy comments of the night was Glover’s in his acceptance speech, “I want to thank Trump for making black people number one on the most oppressed list… he’s probably the only reason I’m up here.”
