Chris Brown Posts Detailed Instructions to Hopefully Land No. 1 on the Billboard Charts

Good or bad idea?

Chris Brown dropped his 2 hour 39 minute Heartbreak on a Full Moon album today (Halloween.) It’s a 45-track, double disc album available for streaming only as of now, with a physical copy available to purchase on Friday (November 3rd). He put out a message to his fans on Instagram encouraging them to buy the album which seems normal, however, what isn’t normal is the amount of detail in the instructions.

Seems as though Breezy is begging you to stream his new album. He’s commanded fans not to listen to the album on iTunes, but to stream it elsewhere whether it’s signing up for free trial’s of Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal and other streaming services. Breezy requests that those who do buy the album, “buy multiple copies” but not all on one receipt, you’ll need to do it separately.

To me it doesn’t seem that Breezy is only worried about sales, his main focus is to get that #1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 and he only has half the time to do it. I think he’s asking too much, but some loyal fans will do exactly what he says and it just might be enough to get him that top spot.

The album clocks in at over two-and-a-half hours so I don’t think it’s made to listen to in one sitting. Think about it all the things you could do during that time. I could watch a few episodes of Stranger Things 2. I could listen to 3 other albums. I could take a nap, go to dinner and even do laundry or something else during that time. However, you better believe despite all of his requests, I will listen to that album front to back more than once.

How will Breezy finish when the Billboard 200 albums chart slots are revealed next week? Stay tuned.
