Cosmopolitan Magazines Pulled From Walmart Checkout Lines

After concerns were raised about the explicit content of Cosmopolitan Magazine, Walmart has decided to pull the publication from its checkout lines.

Walmart allegedly made the decision in conjunction with The National Center on Sexual Exploitation’s anti-pornography organization.

“As with all products in our store, we continue to evaluate our assortment and make changes. Walmart will continue to offer Cosmopolitan to customers that wish to purchase the magazine, but it will no longer be located in the checkout aisles,” Walmart said in a statement.

Cosmo Magazine is notorious for its coverage of sex tips and advice for young woman and it reaches millions of readers per month.

The executive director of The National Center on Sexual Exploitation, Dawn Hawkins, said, “Walmart’s removal of Cosmo from checkout lines is an incremental but significant step toward creating a culture where women and girls are valued as whole persons, rather than as sexual objects.”
