Feds Charge Man with Fraud for Buying Lambo with Relief Funds

While many Americans took their COVID-19 relief funds to pay bills or feed their family, one Florida man decided to go on a buying extravaganza with his $4 million in Payroll Protection aid, buying luxury jewelry, clothing, beach resorts and even a Lamborghini.
Now David Hines of Miami is being charged with bank fraud and more after federal authorities say he was supposed to use the money to fund his payroll.
Hines is familiar with authorities. A week prior to his spending spree he received a $100 fine for violating Miami’s mask ordinance. When WSVN interviewed him about the fine, he coincidentally complained that most of the $2 trillion in PPP loans “went to big corporations.”
