Gucci’s taking petty to the next level! They launched two lawsuits this week over Forever 21’s alleged use of the high-end fashion brand’s trademarked “blue-red-blue” and “green-red-green” stripe patterns.
Forever 21 is firing back, saying that Gucci shouldn’t be allowed to claim all blue-red-blue and green-red-green striped clothing and accessory items. They also pointed the finger at countless other brands who are ripping off the same design.
What’s EXTRA petty about this is that Gucci waited for Forever 21 to continue to release Gucci-inspired pieces, building their evidence and possibly resulting in much higher damages awarded to Gucci. Well played, Gucci, well played.
