WATCH: Guy Pretends He Got Drafted in the 2015 NBA Draft

The NBA Draft is one of sports most anticipated events. It’s the time when dreams of young athletes, who have worked tirelessly their entire lives, come true. Fans and athletes alike come from all over the nation to celebrate the journey of the leagues newest rookies. The draft is surrounded by a ton of fanfare and soon-to-be-celebrity sightings.

This year not all the athlete celebrity sightings were genuine. Connor Toole, a writer for Elite Daily, pretended to be drafted by the Utah Jazz. Standing at 6’10” it’s easy to understand why people would think the Boston College graduate was up for selection in the Draft.

The night of the draft Toole decided to stand outside Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY – home of the 2015 NBA Draft – and pretended to be an eligible college basketball player. Fans and onlookers asked for pictures, selfies, autographs and were more than willing to wish him good luck in the upcoming draft. During the night Toole even found himself let on to the floor of the NBA Draft.

“So it turns out if you wear a suit, act really confident, are also 7 feet tall, it’s really easy to get on the floor of the NBA Draft,” explains Toole.

After the Draft Toole took to the streets of Manhattan as the newest member of the Utah Jazz. The reactions will make you wish you thought of the idea first! Toole gained a lot of attention from the ladies, that reminded me of the MC Rob Base lyric,

“Ladies love me, girls adore me. I mean even the ones who never saw me.”
