The current Mayor of North Ogden, Brent Taylor, announced today that he will be deploying to Afghanistan for 12 months. Taylor serves as a major in the Utah Army National Guard, and this will be his 4th tour with 2 served in Iraq and 1 served in Afghanistan previously.
This marks the first time in Utah history that a city mayor has deployed for military service, and a temporary mayor will be appointed by the city council during his leave of absence.
