New Kanye West Documentary and Podcast
The BBC has planned an eight-part podcast and a documentary about Kanye West’s life. Investigative journalist Mobeen Azhar, who won a BAFTA award for her work on the BBC’s Battle for Britney documentary, will be the face of We Need to Talk About Kanye (working title).
The one-off documentary follows Azhar as he tries to understand West, aka Ye’s, complex journey to become one of his generation’s most famous and creatively successful artists against the backdrop of his 2024 U.S. election campaign and his anti-Semitic rants and behavior, which have sparked outrage and a re-evaluation of his place in popular culture.
