Welcome to America, home of the “opportunists” looking to make a quick buck off Nipsey Hussle’s tragic murder.
In what was a place intended for quiet reflection and tribute has since turned into a tourist attraction. Yes, we knew it would become a site many people would love to visit, but we’re talking tourist attraction as in “tourist trap.”

Just outside The Marathon Clothing Store, where Nipsey was gunned down, were people selling bootleg t-shirts with Nipsey’s image. Some people were even charging a fee to take a tour of the “hood.” However, my favorite is that some people even had the audacity to charge fans for a simple walkthrough of the (very public) area where Nipsey was gunned down.
With hundreds of people gathering around the site on the daily, food trucks eventually started parking outside. Yup, food trucks started profiting from Nipsey’s death.
Look, I was outraged before when I found out that scalpers were trying to charge outrageous prices for tickets to Nipsey’s funeral, which by the way was a FREE event. And those that attended the service and were so devastated by Nipsey’s loss then tried to sell the FREE programs for profit on eBay.
