A Pennsylvania superintendent announced on Tuesday that he would be “arming” all teachers in the district with mini baseball bats in light of recent school shootings.
After giving 500 teachers 16″ baseball bats, the superintendent noted that, “unfortunately, we’re in a day and age where one might need to use them to protect ourselves and our kids.”
However, many parents are opposing the decision, including one PTA president who said, “It’s not going to make some shooter stop and say, ‘Hey, I probably shouldn’t go in and do this.” “The people who do these things aren’t planning on getting away alive. It’s not like they have a fear of being hurt,”
