Petition Calls For Reevaluation of Meek Mill’s ‘Harsh’ Sentencing

The rapper was sentenced to two to four years in prison on Monday for violating his probation.

On Monday (November 6), Meek Mill was sentenced for probation violations and for many in the hip-hop community, they thought his sentencing was excessive. Jay-Z recently spoke out on the issue at a concert in Dallas, Texas.

Well, there’s a petition calling for Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to reevaluate Meek’s prison sentence, for violating probation charges that were already dropped. Roc Nation, who manage Meek, urge those who believe it was too harsh to sign the petition.

You can sign the petition on which states, “This petition is designed to show the amount of people who believe that Meek’s punishment was harsh and unjust. It is a waste of not only taxpayer resources to incarcerate Meek for 2-4 years but it is also a disservice to the youth and community at large.”

The petition has reached it’s goal of 200,000 signatures, but you can help add to it if you’d like.
