Pharrell “Embarrassed” By Some Old Songs

Pharrell Williams is the cover story for the Masculine Issue of GQ magazine.

In his interview, Williams says that he feels embarrassed about some of the overly “chauvinist” songs he recorded years ago.  Pharrell said, “Some of my old songs, I would never write or sing today. I get embarrassed by some of that stuff.” Speaking specifically about his hit Blurred Lines with Robin Thicke, Pharrell said, “I realized that there are men who use that same language when taking advantage of a woman, and it doesn’t matter that that’s not my behavior or the way I think about things. It just matters how it affects women.”

Do you think a lot of artists will feel bad about a song they did at a different time?
