When Reality Hits: Post Malone’s Reflections in “Mourning”

Post Malone has released another song from his upcoming album, Austin. Earlier this week, he teased the song on Instagram while on tour in the U.K. He posted b-roll snippets on social media with the caption, “I love Scotland, and I love you [double heart emoji] Mourning this Friday [double heart and beer emoji].” Check out the new song:

Posty’s lyrics in “Mourning” show how hard it is for him to face reality. As a loud kick holds down the beat, he calls out to his “quote-unquote friends,” talks about stumbling around drunk to The Commodores, and “mourns” the end of his buzz as the morning sun ends the night’s sweet escape. It’s catchy, makes you feel sad, and is very Post Malone. Post is currently on tour and will tour the U.S. throughout the summer. His album, Austin, is slated for July 28th. So what do you think of Post Malone’s song “Mourning?”
