New Song from Quavo, Migos Future Uncertain
Quavo released a second tribute song in honor of his nephew, Takeoff. Teasing “Greatness,” Quavo posted a picture of Takeoff sitting on the floor surrounded by platinum plaques. “Countdown to Greatness,” he wrote in the caption. “#ForTake[rocket emoji].”
The song’s release comes four months after Takeoff was gunned down in Houston during a dice game gone sideways. Quavo raps about the end of Migos, “So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone / Young n___a, it can’t come back, damn,” he raps. Luckily, fans got one last project from two-thirds of the Migos with Only Built for Infinity Links, released less than a month before Takeoff’s death.
Offset previously denied bad blood at the Grammys, where Quavo refused to let Offset take part in a tribute to Takeoff. This backstage showdown was partially recorded, with audio of Cardi B trying to calm the situation.
