Tokyo 2020 debut…
According to The Salt Lake Tribune, Utah will be home to North America’s only Olympic-grade skate park if Republican Mike McKell gets his way. Skateboarding is making its Olympic debut for Tokyo 2020.
The plan is to build the skate park at the Utah State Fairpark and it will only cost $300,000 from the state. Another $200,000 will be donated from Vans Corporation who have a great relationship with the State Fairpark.
McKell is hopeful to have the park built by mid-August, just before the Vans Park Series park terrain skateboarding World Championship in September. The competition has never been held on U.S. soil Iand according to Larry Mullenax, executive director of the Utah State Fair Corp., it would bring in $4 million locally and $8 million from media exposure.

If the park does get built, what would you be willing to pay to skate there?
