Salt Lake City is Adding More Liquor Stores for NBA All-Star Weekend

How is Salt Lake City preparing for NBA All-Star Weekend? By adding more liquor stores. With only two state-run liquor stores operating downtown, Utah state officials are installing a ‘pop up’ liquor store inside the Salt Palace Convention Center to help meet demand. The NBA All-Star Weekend, Feb. 16-18, will bring many visitors to Salt Lake City, including the best basketball players in the world.

The weekend will include several events. The celebrity and rising stars’ games happen on Friday, February 17th. The skills challenge, 3-point Contest, and slam dunk Contest are on Saturday. And the all-star game will be on Sunday.

The NBA announced the starters for the all-star game this week. Unfortunately, no Jazzman made the starting lineup, but Donovan Mitchell did.

The yearly event was last held in Utah in 1993. John Stockton and Karl Malone were awarded co-MVPs for the game.
