Utah has made national news, with a Hepatitis A outbreak. Heres what you need to know.

  • Those with health risks are at a higher risk of contracting the virus.
  • Salt Lake County is the center of the outbreak with 66 cases, there have also been 14 cases reported in Utah County.
  • The hepatitis A vaccine is proven to be more than 99 percent effective in preventing the disease for over 20 years.
  • Those most at risk of contracting the virus are homeless, or actively using drugs, or incarcerated.
