A Utah driver was shocked when he was pulled over by police, and his rider immediately abandoned the car and started running.
Apparently, gang unit detectives spotted the suspect around midnight and continued to watch him as he got into the Uber car. Police then followed and finally stopped the car around 11400 S. and 1300 W. where the suspect then jumped out of the car and ran.
Law enforcement said the driver was not aware he was transporting a wanted felon.
Police are still trying to locate the suspect, wanted for child kidnapping and other warrants, who ran into the woods. South Jordan Police Sgt. Erik Hill said. “Unfortunately we’ve got such a large area, especially back in here, where it’s pretty wooded. It’s a little difficult for the dogs and for us to get through.”
He is described as a caucasian man who is about 5’10” and 110 pounds and was last seen wearing a white t shirt and blue jeans. They are not releasing his name at this time as they follow up on leads.
