WATCH | Lil Wayne Addresses Suicidal Attempt

“Embrace expectations rather than fear them…”

Lil Wayne and New York Giants Wide Receiver, Odell Beckham Jr. sat down with ESPN’s Josina Anderson for an in-depth conversation about all things football, music, and lifestyle. The two Louisiana natives shared their darkest moments and how they were able to pull through, thanks to the guiding light of family and religion.

The video below starts at the 16:46-minute mark where Wayne addresses his suicide attempt. At the end of Tha Carter V album, there’s a track titled, “Let It All Work Out,” which deals with Wayne’s suicide attempt. On the track, he opens up about the experience and in the interview, he reveals when he originally wanted to release the song.

“That song has actually been recorded for probably over four years.”

Wayne was ready to come out with that track in 2014 and get it off his chest, but it was always intended to be on Tha Carter V.

Watch the interview below for more on the Wayne’s and Odell’s darkest moments.
