WATCH | People Get Out Of Their Cars To Collect Money Spilled On The Highway

After an armored Brinks truck spilled money onto a highway in East Rutherford, New Jersey, people began getting out of their cars to collect. The spill was the result of a malfunction on the back door of the truck, releasing piles of cash onto the road.

As a result of people stopping in the middle of the road to scrape up the bills, multiple accidents were caused.

While most people pocketed the money, a few people left their cars to help the truck driver.

“One good Samaritan had scooped up some money and handed it back to the security guard,” said East Rutherford Police Capt. Phillip Taormina.

Brinks issued this statement: “We confirm that one of our trucks was involved in an incident on Route 3 in East Rutherford this morning. The incident is under investigation and we have no additional comment at this time.”
