What a year indeed, from losing loved ones to the addition of a beautiful baby girl. Here are 10 of my year ending memories of 2016.
1 – NEW BABY ON THE WAY.
The beginning of the year was a scary and happy moment as Jenna and I were expecting a baby in June. Keeping it a secret and trying to figure out when to announce our new addition was something we pondered on. Again, it would be a happy moment, but a little scary since this would be a new baby for me after 16 years!
2 – THE PASSING OF MY BEST FRIEND JEFF PEAY.
Talk about a very hard time for Jenna and I as we lost such a great friend in life. Very sudden and so unexpected of course. He was the first one we broke the news to about our baby Jasmine. No doubt the news was happy to his ears. We were happy that he was able to hear the news before his passing. We miss you my friend.
3 – ANNOUNCING TO THE WORLD WE WERE EXPECTING.
We officially made the announcement to our parents and everyone on Facebook on Easter Day!
4 – OUR BABY BEING BORN AT JUST 25 WEEKS.
Talk about a very emotional time, as Jenna had to have an emergency delivery a little over half term. Jasmine Mae was brought into this world on May 14th 2016 at just one pound one ounce. The C-section was successful, but the news was overwhelming. Imagine how hard it was to hear that your baby was facing a 50/50 chance of becoming a healthy child.
5 – MY DEAREST DOG “TURBO” DIES.
I really miss you Turbo. What a great family pet for close to 10 years.
6 – HOLDING MY BABY FOR THE FIRST TIME.
With just a thin glass separating my baby and I, it seemed like forever before I was able to hold my miracle baby. Tears of joy ran down my face.
7 – JASMINE’S FIRST BATH WITH MOM AND DAD.
Talk about such a happy moment knowing that she had come so far in such little time. Thank you to our fantastic primary nurse Destiny who helped us with a very nervous moment in our lives. The video speaks for itself.
8 – BRINGING OUR BABY HOME!
She was ready to finally come home after nearly 5 months in the NICU.
9 – MAKING IT OFFICIAL.
10 – MY RAIDERS ARE GOING TO THE PLAYOFFS AFTER 14 YEARS!
We are finally in after all these years! Even though we are facing a season ending injury to our one time MVP candidate quarter back Derek Carr, we’ve had an amazing season and the drought is finally over! RAIDER NATION!
Thank you for a great year that you as listeners have been to U92. I hope you all have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
