What’s up guys!?! #InternEsther here. Checkin in on this lovely Wednesday for your weekly dose of women empowerment in the R&B and Hip Hop music industry! I’m obsessed with this week’s #womentofollow artist. You may know the talented R&B artist as the mysterious moniker, H.E.R. but according to Genius and putting the puzzle pieces together, her real name is Gabi Wilson. Originally from Vallejo, California, H.E.R. has been an internet sensation since she was 10-years-old performing on the Maury show for “The Most Talented Kids Episode” and later on The Today Show, Good Morning America and The View. The soulful singer debuted her first EP in September 2016 and it hit #1 on Itunes for Top R&B albums twice in the seven month period of its release and is currently #7! One of my favorite songs of the EP is “Focus” and might be one of Rihanna’s “favorites” too according to badgalriri’s instagram post earlier this week. Her music is dope and I’m super excited to hear more from the mysterious artist. Check her out!
