Nickelodeon and cartoon fans around the world are mourning the death of ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ creator Stephen Hillenburg today. He succumbed to a battle with ALS at the age of 57.
‘Spongebob Squarepants’ premiered in 1999 and quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. The show will celebrate its 20th anniversary next year, and in 2020, ‘The Spongebob Movie: It’s A Wonderful Sponge’ will be released.
