Dame Dash Declares Nas the Winner in Feud with JAY-Z

The clash between Nas and JAY-Z is a tale that continues to intrigue fans and artists alike. Dame Dash, the co-creator of Roc-A-Fella Records and a former ally of JAY-Z, recently shared his perspective on the feud during his guest appearance on the That’s F***ed Up Podcast. Despite his previous ties with JAY-Z, Dash boldly declared Nas as the victor in the infamous lyrical battle.

The Clash of Titans

Dash’s commentary centered around the two diss tracks that defined the feud – JAY-Z’s “Takeover” and Nas’s “Ether.” He expressed his disappointment with JAY-Z’s follow-up track, “Super Ugly,” describing it as “dismal.” Dash reminisced about the initial impact of “Takeover” at Summer Jam, which was a significant blow. However, when Nas retaliated with “Ether,” Dash admitted to being excited, primarily because his name was mentioned in the track. Listen to both tracks:

The Controversial Response

Dash’s critique didn’t stop at JAY-Z’s response. He also blamed Irv Gotti, the renowned DJ, music producer, and co-founder of Murder Inc. Records, for mishandling the situation. According to Dash, Gotti’s interference led to a weak response from JAY-Z, resulting in an apology, which Dash found unacceptable. He expressed his frustration with Gotti, warning him to stay out of his affairs in the future.

Questioning Dame Dash’s Critiques

However, one can’t help but question why Dash continues to discuss JAY-Z in his interviews. Is it a genuine critique or a way to stay relevant in the ever-evolving hip-hop scene?
