“I see you can’t play with the internet”
Update (November 7): Diddy is still Diddy. Apparently he learned that you can not play with the internet (or you can and he’s laughing at all of us freaking out about his name change). Mr. Combs must’ve had a change of heart and decided to keep his name the same. I don’t buy the whole “joke” and think he saw the criticism and immediately knew he had to play it off as a joke because nobody was going to take him seriously.
Maybe he was just looking for some attention because he is notorious for changing names. He’s done it so much that he even mocked himself in the music video for “Bad Boys For Life” back in 2001.
“I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy, or any of my other monikers.”
Original Post (November 6): Farewell, Diddy. It seems the changing of seasons brings a changing of names for the 48-year-old rapper. Standing on a beach wearing a sun hat and aviator sunglasses on his birthday, Diddy announced that he has changed his name to Love, a.k.a. Brother Love.
“Love” is no stranger to switching up his persona. In 1997 his debut album, No Way Out, was released under the name Puff Daddy. In 2001 he adopted the nickname P. Diddy before deciding to drop the “P” in 2005. In 2014, he came full circle and returned to Puff Daddy.
I decided to change my name again!

In the past, “Love” has been known to change his name when he has new music coming out so who knows what he’s up to.
