During a recent interview with British GQ, Dr. Dre and his business partner, Jimmy Iovine, announced their plans for opening a high school.
The music moguls will work in conjunction with USC, Laurene Powell Jobs, and XQ.
“We’re starting it right outside of USC,” Iovine shared. “It’s for that neighborhood and it’s going to be free.”
Dre admits that he wasn’t big on school but he came to understand the possibilities that education could bring, especially if there is a curriculum that kids can benefit from. Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine say they are looking to give underrepresented students an edge.
