Joey Bada$$ Drops New Track And Covers ‘Black Panther’s’ “King’s Dead”

Is Brooklyn In The House?

Joey Bada$$’ new track serves as a bit of a tribute to The Notorious B.I.G., who died 21 years ago, earlier this month. Joey blurts “Yo Biggie! What up, son?” in the intro.

“I was raised in them neighborhoods so impoverished
Now I get a little taller when I stand on my wallet
And I bought tracks with the late, great Christopher Wallace
I’m a hip-hop scholar, graduated with the young god honors
And the wisdom and the knowledge from all of my forefathers
I pay homage, only right I keep this shit honest
High-level shit, they call me your highness bitch”

He also covered Black Panther’s “Kings Dead” track originally by Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Future and James Blake.
