As one of hip hop’s elite and most reserved, you’ll seldom catch Eminem on a feature these days. However, legendary pop/rock star Pink recently got Em to drop a few bars for her.
In a recent interview, she described the process saying that she had to get a little “liquid courage” in her before asking for the collab. ‘I sneak-attacked him. Max [Martin] and I started making Revenge, and I wrote this rap. We were drinking a lot of wine, and then I went home and I thought more wine would be a good idea,’ she said.
Once she had a few more glasses in her, she had an epiphany of sorts, and decided to email Eminem, whom she thought would be perfect for the track. She then wrote a lengthy, drunken email saying, “You know I love you. I like that you work with a lot of the same people, like Rihanna. She’s hotter than me, but I’m funnier. So I’m going for a rap Grammy, and I’d like to take you along with me.”
Well, her bravery paid off. In true OG fashion, Eminem replied with a simple, “Okay”.
4 days later, the finished track landed in her inbox, and she didn’t hold back her excitement. She wrote another long email expressing how much she loved what Em did with the track, and again, he hit her with a short “okay”. Like a true G.
