EDUCATION AND DIVERSITY
The Afro Utah Festival is a cultural event that provides those who identify as African Americans, Africans, Afro-Caribbean, West Indian, Afro-Latino, Afro-European, and everyone with African ancestry the opportunity to share their culture, pride, and heritage with others. With the rise of the black population in Utah, there has become a need to not only enlighten others about blacks but also, showcase the great work and contributions black citizens are making in the community. The festival will promote and recognize Afro-black culture and the impactful work Afro blacks are doing in Utah communities. Unique to any other culture-centric event held in Utah, this cultural festival aims to dive DEEP:
Discover diversity by genuinely and passionately exploring Black/Afro cultures from all
around the world.
Engage in authentic cultural experiences through entertainment, food, and educational
activities.
Enlighten participants and the audience about the talents, attributes, and accomplishments of
Black/Afro-centric communities in the state of Utah and immigrant diaspora; and
Promote inclusion, and unity, while showcasing the benefits of integrating Black/Afro cultures and
Afro-centric values into our communities.
