Non-Refundable Deposit…
Not sure if Travis Scott understands that once he receives a deposit he still has to perform.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Scott is being sued by Empire Music Ventures for canceling on a 75-minute headliner performance after collecting the $217,500 deposit. The rapper was under contract to perform at the Rhythm, Wine & Brews Experience in Indio, California on March 2, 2019 for a total payment of $400,000.
Scott’s team apparently canceled his performance on the same day they received the deposit with no explanation provided. However, the Astroworld tour announced a part two schedule which has him performing at Madison Square Garden on the original date of March 2nd.
The language in his contract states he could not “contract or advertise any other performance within a 120-mile radius for 90 days before or 30 days after March 2.”
After the Astroworld rapper canceled, the event’s organizers decided to release a statement announcing the experience was canceled.
Scott and his team are being accused of “stealing,” and facing a lawsuit for fraud and breach of contract.
