According to a survey by Affordable Colleges Online, the University of Utah ranked second in the nation for the most LGBTQ-friendly campus.
More than 10,000 LGBTQ students participated in the study, and 40% of them cited that they did not feel accepted at their college. These lower-rated schools may be able to a take a few notes from the U, which offers LGBTQ housing, scholarships, and an LGBT Resource Center.
For students who are still exploring their gender identity and sexuality, the U even offers a mentorship program where these students can be paired with a mentor in the LGBTQ community to provide support.
