My father once brought our family to a theater back in 1984 which was located on Parleys Way. I wasn’t sure what movie we were there to see? But it didn’t matter, because it was a family outing.
Little did I know, that was the start of my Martial Arts film addiction.

1984 was a pinnacle year of my youth. The Karate Kid was all the rage that year, among my other two favorites like Breakin’ and Beat Street that battled on the big screen.
I never really felt the pain of Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio), except when I moved to New Mexico my junior year of High School. Some of you may never have known, but I was bullied by many back then. You could say that I was different from the locals, a lover not a fighter. There have been times that I wished I had my own Mr. Miyagi.
Well fastforward 2 decades and some change later, I am where I want to be in my life and I get to continue my obsession with Martial Arts! Daniel-san’s hated rival, Johnny Lawrence (played by William Zabka) of the Cobra Kai is back!
