What was the reasoning?
Though XXXTentacion wasn’t nominated for a Grammy ( ineligible for Best New Artist), many of us at least thought we would see his name recognized during the show’s “in memoriam” segment. Instead, he went ignored.
The Recording Academy honored a variety of artists who died this past year during it’s in memoriam segment, however, they decided not to include XXXTentacion due to his alleged acts of domestic violence.
XXXTentacion was awaiting trial at the time of his death (June 18, 2018) on charges that he brutally assaulted his then-pregnant girlfriend.
Was it wrong for the Recording Academy to leave out XXXTentacion in their tribute?
