The Salt Lake International Airport is looking for artists who want their work displayed as part of the new SLC redevelopment program. “The Whimsy Wall Project”, issued by the Salt Lake City Arts Council and the Salt Lake Department of Airports, will feature large-scale artwork from local artists.
In a press release, the Director of Public Relations & Marketing for the Salt Lake City Department of Airports, Nancy Volmer, said, “The large-scale art walls—or Whimsy Walls—are unique vinyl wall wraps that will be created from original artwork and placed throughout the airport’s 24 restrooms. The art is intended to create immersive and engaging experiences for travelers.”
Artists are encouraged to submit original work which reflects the “culture, community, landscape, and spirit of Salt Lake City”. If your work is chosen, you’ll receive a $7,000 commission for each piece.

Good luck!
