Censoring Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars ‘Futile’, Indonesian Musicians Say

The Indonesian Broadcasting Commission has ruled 42 artists from the United States that have music that is considered “immoral.”

Songs from Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, Eminem, Dua Lipa, and more are being censored. Critics are calling the move, “futile” at best due to streaming and the Internet. The ban was implemented due to Law 32 of the Indonesian Broadcasting Code for several reasons including that the songs contained “words of violence and obscenity or allude to sexuality.” The songs won’t be played before 10 pm, and after that time they will be censored.

What do you think of Indonesia’s censoring rules?
