K.O.D.
On Monday (April 16), J. Cole took to Twitter to announce that he would be holding a surprise concert at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre and that it would be a “first come, first served” kind of situation. The flyer for the show also warned that no cameras, bags, or phones would be allowed.
The lucky fans that got in not only got a free show but Cole performed tracks off his upcoming fifth studio album in its entirety.
After the concert, Cole revealed the album’s title and release date on Twitter.

This is not the first time that Cole has dropped an album with short notice. He did the same thing for his third album 2014 Forest Hills Drive. With limited promotional push and no lead singles it still managed to go double platinum.
