The Recording Academy will celebrate the 50th anniversary of hip-hop at the Grammys with legends of the genre set to perform. Method Man, Too $hort, Nelly, and more will perform at this year’s Grammys on February 5th. LL Cool J will introduce the segment, while The Roots will be the backing band, and their drummer, Questlove, will direct and produce it.
The planned tribute to hip-hop covers rappers and singers spanning over four decades and regional flavors of the genre. Other acts include Lil Wayne, Missy Elliott, Queen Latifah, Public Enemy, RUN-DMC, Rakim, Big Boi from Outkast, Salt-N-Pepa, Scarface, De La Soul, Lil Baby, The Lox, Future, DJ Drama, Swizz Beats, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Ice T, Busta Rhymes, and GloRilla.
